Job Profile Summary
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for administering the reconciliation of all funds handled in the financial aid department. Efficiently and effectively handles all daily operation issues as it relates to the reconciliation, re-awarding, and return of all funds disbursed by financial aid. Ensures compliance with college standards, policies, and guidelines while scheduling, training, and supervising those reporting to this position within the operations team. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience/Training:
Five years of related experience, with three years in a supervisory or lead (leading projects, processes and staff) capacity required.
Essential Functions:
Daily- 35%: Manages and supervises the daily operations and coordination of the reconciliation of financial aid funds, including the supervision of the Senior Advisors and part-time staff and the monitoring of system reports.
Daily -30%: Provides guidance to staff and leadership team regarding the processing of Title IV financial aid State funds. Analyzes and evaluates financial aid eligibility for students.
Daily -10%: Oversees staff in the training and application of new financial aid processes and procedures ensuring the accuracy and consistency of information provided.
Other, as Needed- 10%: Assists in the testing of interfacing financial aid systems with other internal systems.
Daily -10%: Provides recommendations regarding staff training needs and assists in streamlining and updating the financial aid processes.
Other, as Needed -5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to mentor staff and advanced knowledge of financial aid state and federal regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Advanced knowledge of public college and higher education standards.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs.
Experience in hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff.
Ability to work with a diverse student/staff population.
Knowledge of operational processes and procedures.
Ability to contribute to policy and procedure development.
Advanced level technical skills for functional area required.
