Assistant Director of Advancement Marketing, Stanford Law SchoolStanford Law School's External Relations Office seeks to hire an Assistant Director of Advancement Marketing. The advancement marketing team is responsible for planning and executing a broad range of development communications, donor relations, and stewardship activities designed to strengthen ties between the school and its donors and alumni and to encourage philanthropic engagement. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Marketing, this individual's primary responsibility will be delivering on Stanford Law School's efforts to grow its alumni relations and marketing functions. This role will have the opportunity to innovate in creating new engagement and marketing tools, in collaboration with ER managers and frontline staff, furthering alumni and donor engagement with SLS. Your responsibilities include: Manage a portfolio of alumni relations, annual fund, and donor engagement marketing campaigns on behalf of the school by establishing and executing project plans, timelines, tasks, and objectives.In collaboration with the Director of Advancement Marketing and the Associate Director of the Law Fund, write/edit Law Fund appeals and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns to better inform Law Fund strategy.Working closely with the director of alumni relations and the AR field officers to understand need, plan and execute strategic marketing campaigns for Reunions, signature regional events and virtual events to achieve annual engagement metrics. Analyze current practices and recommend improvements that will help grow affinity and regional networks.Develop and provide recommendations on best methodologies to engage individual alumni and donors. Research and curate internally the ever-growing body of law school content that alumni find most relevant and informative; draft and edit all-alumni communications, newsletter copy, and web/multimedia content that repurposes much of such content; stay up to date on all SLS-related newsletters and social media accounts from faculty, departments, labs, and centers.Using email marketing and event marketing software, deploy campaigns for alumni relations colleagues that adhere to industry best practices.Identify ways to collaborate with existing efforts around the Stanford Law School Campaign, Reunions, and virtual programming to recognize and engage donors and volunteers, provide content-rich experiences, and deepen connections.In collaboration with the team's prospect analyst, regularly audit the effectiveness of Law Fund and alumni relations campaigns to optimize for success.Independently project manage donor recognition projects, including creating communications with donors, colleagues, and vendors. Participate in special projects as assigned. Write, edit, and project manage major and principal gift proposals.Build and maintain a strong network of colleagues across and beyond campus to stay up to date on best practices in advancement marketing and innovations in advancement.May assist with creating and executing events and coordinating with donor relations and development colleagues on cross functional events.Other duties as assigned.To be successful in this position, you will bring: Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. 1-3 years of experience in an advancement marketing/communications, donor relations/stewardship, or annual giving roles.Superior organizational skills.Excellent writing, research and editorial skills; ability to synthesize information and compose clear and effective materials.Ability to listen and respond with diplomacy and tact.Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating multiple complex projects with competing deadlines.Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly understand and remember details about donors and projects to which they are assigned.Strong customer service focus; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive material.Proficient in MS Office Suite and database applications.Demonstrated project management skills.* - Consistent with its obligations under the law, the University will provide reasonable accommodation to any employee with a disability who requires accommodation to perform the essential functions of the job. The expected pay range for this position is $86,094 to $101,933 per annum (Hybrid/Stanford Region).
