The Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies, also known as Stanford Seed, is a GSB-led initiative working to end the cycle of global poverty by training business leaders in developing economies and inspiring Stanford students to become globally-engaged leaders. Seeds mission is to partner with entrepreneurs in emerging markets to build thriving enterprises that transform lives.
Stanford Seed seeks an Assistant Director to manage and support programs and initiatives that engage entrepreneurs across Africa and South Asia in the Seed Transformation Network (the Network), a diverse community of 800+ entrepreneurs from 20+ countries who have completed the .
The Assistant Director will manage and serve as the primary point of contact for the , a foundational Network program which connects volunteer Seed consultants with projects aimed at solving business challenges members are facing. In addition, the Assistant Director will work closely with other members of the Program Delivery Team and staff from our four global offices to manage and support a variety of strategic initiatives for the Network, including planning and implementing a global conference on entrepreneurship, facilitating committees, and researching and developing new program opportunities for the Network.
The successful applicant will have the exciting and unique opportunity to develop and engage with a robust community of global volunteers including Stanford alumni, as well as business leaders, finding new ways to foster connections among these groups and with Seed. In addition, you will be a key thought partner and contributor to the ongoing development of the Seed Transformation Network.
**Your primary responsibilities include:**
* Managing the end-to-end experience for Seed consultants and business leaders participating in the Seed Consulting Program:
+ Planning and managing project rounds including sourcing consultants, projects and setting key deliverables & timelines.
+ Serving as the primary relationship manager to Seed consultants and business leaders engaged in the program.
+ Partner with the data & systems team on improving technology tools and processes that enhance the programs ability to scale.
* Publicly representing the program by leading information sessions, hosting recruitment events at Stanford alumni events and speaking publicly about the program.
* Developing and implementing an engagement strategy to build a strong and cohesive community of Seed consultants and leaders.
* Serve as member of the Seed Transformation Network workgroup, a committee that brings together global and US based Seed staff to develop and implement the strategy for the Seed Transformation Network. Including:
+ Supporting committees for global & cross-regional events.
+ Researching and implementing new programs and initiatives that meet the needs of the members of the Seed Transformation Network.
**To be successful in this position, you will bring:**
* Bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task.
* Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
* Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
* Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
* Comfort with technology and data management.
**In addition, preferred requirements include:**
* Five plus years of experience with managing volunteers, programs or projects.
* Familiarity with entrepreneurship or entrepreneurial ecosystems.
* International, cross-cultural, or global work experience.
* Experience with Salesforce or demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly.
