Assistant Project Manager The Project Engineer will assist Project Manager and field staff in daily job management tasks, including workflow, manpower and scheduling of the assigned project, and assist with tasks related to the workflow of the assigned project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties. Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems, as assigned.
Perform estimating assignments as required.
Assist with or update construction forecast to reflect most accurate/current cost and estimate information.
Assist with analyzing work progress and developing craft productivity reports to document cost/budget activity.
Calculate/prepare various comparison reports, charts, and tables for project analysis.
Assist in preparing special reports, studies, etc. requested by the client and/or project management.
Assist in management and issuance of subcontracts.
Assist with material procurement and coordination.
Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items, as required.
May provide supervision and/or on-the-job training to clerical or entry professional personnel assigned to area of responsibility.
Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
Contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
Compares the actual cost of project to estimates.
Collaborates with Project Manager to identify and troubleshoot problems.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in construction science, Engineering or similar
At least one year of experience in project management and engineering. Internship in applicable field also accepted.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Familiar with reading blueprints and project specifications.
Able to take direction.
