General Summary:

Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager, The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager supports the Food and Beverage Manager in overseeing daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests.
This role includes managing staff, maintaining service standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and assisting with inventory management and budgeting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Food Service Responsibilities: Assists in hiring, training, and supervision of all part time and seasonal food service personnel.
Enforces guidelines for part-time and seasonal food service personnel.
Assist in preparing weekly work schedules for food service personnel along with task assignment.
Assists in ensuring a high-quality guest and food service experiences through customer service and overall operational and food preparation training for all food service employees.
Assures that cleanliness and sanitization best practices are established and maintained.
Provides all subordinates with specific guidelines and task instructions as necessary.
Evaluates employees' performance and overall effectiveness and takes the necessary steps to develop employees, reward team players and discipline non-team players.
Assists in handling all facets of food services including inventory, cost control and sales.
Works with the Food and Beverage Manager and Warehouse Manager to always maintain adequate inventory levels of food and supplies.
Assists in the development of food service menus and offerings.
Successfully develops and implements new product offerings to increase revenue and enhance guest experiences.
Assists the Food and Beverage Manager and Warehouse Manager with meeting vendors to select food products.
Assists the Food and Beverage Manager and Warehouse Manager in coordinating bidding and purchasing of food, beverage, merchandise, and supply products for the Restaurant.
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all food service equipment through frequent monitoring and preventive daily maintenance.
Responsible to develop Serve Safe Food practices for all food staff members and leaders as well as conducting instructional meetings and in-services to assure all food service outlets meet Health Department codes, guidelines, and best practices.
Assists in overseeing Golf Course Alcohol Service Program, including development and compliance with safe service practices and TIPS guidelines.
Assists in the management of the annual budget for food service operations to be included in the overall annual District budget.
Participate in development and planning of future food service expansion including assisting with project management from design to completion.
As required will actively participate in serving, food prep, cleaning and other operational duties particularly in the off-peak seasons.
Work with Golf Management team to develop overall employee guidelines, pay structure, bonus programs, employee/leadership development, appearance guidelines, employee recruitment and retention strategies for all part time and seasonal staff.
Other Duties & Responsibilities: Performs all functions in a guest service-oriented manner.
Works periodically on special projects as assigned outside the context of Golf, but for which the incumbent possesses the ability to perform adequately.
Actively participates in professional organizations, as well as affiliated organizations, to expand knowledge and understanding of industry practices.
Appropriately resolves concerns, problems, or emergencies that arise.
Attends training sessions, workshops, staff meetings, and conferences, as necessary.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Proficient in common office productivity computer software.
Ability to demonstrate strong public relations and communications skills.
Experience with and clear understanding of point-of-sale and inventory systems.
Ability to effectively train and lead staff to maintain a cohesive internal work environment.
Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment during stressful situations.
Possess strong human resource skills, including the ability to work with a wide demographic personnel base.
Ability to work autonomously and assume responsibility for initiative and completion of work.
Ability to demonstrate strong skills for detail and accuracy.
A mechanical aptitude is desirable.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other District employees, District groups and park guests.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:Lift bags weighing 50 pounds to a height of 3.5 feet.
Hear emergency signal devices, hear voice calls for help or assistance, recognize dangerous situations from listening to crowd noises, and recognize odd or unusual sounds in standard pool equipment and machinery.
Smell unusual odors generated by malfunctioning equipment or chemical reactions.
Give and receive clear verbal instructions up to 200 feet.
Climb and work at heights up to 50 feet.
Work in different outdoor temperatures, extreme heat & cold.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Summer season includes long hours, weekends, and holidays.
Education/Experience:

Should possess an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college, with major course work in business administration, culinary, recreation or another closely related field plus 5 seasons of experience in food services, recreation administration or business administration.
Must attain SERV Safe Food Safety Management Training certification and TIPS Certification within 60 days (about 2 months) of hire.
