Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Resort in Lake Charles, Louisiana is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Responsibilities:
•Responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift. Supports, administers and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
•Coordinates with manager for any scheduling concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction.
•May be responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations; supports compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
•Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.
•Oversees cost control methods and procedures by monitoring pars and inventory. Makes improvements as necessary.
•Coordinates with the Guest Services Department to ensure that the highest level of guest service with professionalism is provided at all times.
•Responds to guest needs and serves as the point of contact for guest complaints in absence of Manager. Issues complimentaries to guests as needed for service recovery.
•Conducts administrative duties as needed.
•Conducting pre-shift meetings to relay pertinent information on assigned shift.
•Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
•Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
•Networks with industry leaders and customers through marketing the casino resort, as well as the golf course to stay ahead of standards and trends.
Requirements:
Associate Degree (A.A.) in related field; one to two years related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Must have comprehensive knowledge of golf industry and equipment. Must be knowledgeable with current golf industry standards and trends.
Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
Must have or be able to obtain Louisiana Pesticide License, Turf and Ornamental within 6 months of hire date.
Compensation:
$50,000 – $55,000 per year.
Benefits Start on 1st Day of Employment.
Flex Time Off – 160 Hours Per Year.
