Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Club in Hollister, California is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.
Position Overview:
Responsible for helping grow the overall business at the club. The duties shall include but are not limited to supervising outside service staff, assist with tournament operations, assist with golf instruction, help with merchandising and ordering, assisting with club events and growing the membership base along with player development programs.
Essential Duties:
•Assist Director of Golf in day-to-day operations.
•Always engage members and guests when they walk into the golf shop in an appropriate and prompt manner.
•Checking in guests daily.
•Answering phones quickly and making tee time reservations.
•Ensuring both members, guests & employees are adhering to golf course rules, polices, and procedures.
•Assist with tournament organization and activation.
•Assist the Director of Golf with Junior Camps, PGA instructional programs, golf clinics, lessons.
•Assist in making sure the golf shop is maintained in a neat and clean manner daily.
•Assist in all inventory activities.
•Assist in the supervision of the outside golf operations personnel.
•Coordinate the receiving and pricing of merchandise with the merchandiser/buyer.
•Ensure that standard operating procedures are being followed (SOP's)
•Possess a thorough understanding of overall golf operations.
•Ensure that all golf shop supply inventory is maintained at par levels and report to the Director of Golf when supplies need to be ordered.
•Be accountable for all transactions utilizing the Point-of-Sale System (Club Caddie)
•Always maintain a professional appearance.
•Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
High school education; or up to one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active PGA Member or Level 1 or higher PGA Associate in good standing working towards full membership.
Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding.
Strong ability to multitask.
Strong communication skills.
Attention to cleanliness and safety.
Patience and customer-oriented approach.
Professional and courteous demeanor.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to company values.
Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization, our employees, clients, and vendors.
Preferred:
Previous experience at a Golf Club, Country Club or Golf Retail Environment.
Compensation:
$22.00 – $25.00 per hour.
