The Opportunity:Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Assistant Manager – Inventory to optimize our Biopharma Production organization. This Devens, MA role is full-time, on-site.If you have inventory/ warehouse supervisory experience – let's talk!Minimum Education Requirement:Associate's degreeRequired Experience (2+ yrs.):Overseeing an inventory control/kitting teamSupervising multi- shift Inventory Control Supervisors Supervising Material Handling Leads and associates.Ensuring that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employeesReviewing and evaluation of employee performance.Ensuring that the warehouse department adheres to site safety procedures. Conducting periodic safety walks and trainings and near miss investigations Ensuring that the warehouse is maintaining qualityAdvising Supervisors and Leads on resource allocationsCommunicating and coordinating with Warehouse Managers and Supervisors to ensure smooth inventory transfers and optimized warehouse utilization. Interacting with Supervisors, Leads in problem solving, decision-making, and team issuesEnsuring Supervisors, Leads, and associates work collaboratively in the decision-making processes that are in alignment with the business goals and objectives, Good Warehousing Practices, Key Performance Indicator's (KPI), OSHA requirements and Human Resources (HR) guidelines.Advising internal shareholders of major warehouse activities and non-routine changes to the scheduleEstablishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.Defining goals and objectivesReporting on department performance/ metrics and track KPIs.Evaluating / reviewing department Supervisors, Leads and associatesReading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and SOPs.Writing reports and correspondence. Collaboration skills (IE: Microsoft Office /ERP System software). Perform other duties as assignedPreferred Experience:Supporting daily management meetings for the material handling and inventory control teams.Developing morale and motivation to team through positive leadership, sincere interest and recognition, fair appraisals of performance and sound counseling within established Company policies.Utilizing lean manufacturing tools to recommend and implement warehouse changesEnabling/ developing Supervisors in their managerial skills/ performance  Conducting associate relation investigations and facilitating effective communications and collaborative problem-solving strategiesExperience in a GMP & FDA regulated manufacturing environmentWarehouse / inventory management  How you will thrive and create an impact:Avantor's Biopharma Production organization works side-by-side with Scientists around the world to enable breakthroughs in medicine, healthcare, and technology at scale. Our expertise and solutions, reliable products, digital solutions and innovation and manufacturing facilities help make life-changing possibilities a reality. The Assistant Manager of one of Avantor's Biopharma Production warehouses will be responsible for the material handling and inventory control (kitting) teams at a Avantor Fluid Handling site.This high visibility team member will:Be responsible for a team of Inventory Control Supervisors across 3 shifts, Inventory Control Associates, Material Handling LeadsBe required to coordinate day-to-day activities, in collaboration with the Leads and Supervisors and internal stakeholders, to ensure effective warehouse management, and material flow into the various production cellsReport to the site Operations Manager and will collaborate with site leadershipUtilize business level communication skills, both verbal and written.Employ team building/ management skills.Manage multiple tasks and priorities while adapting to changing situations.Utilize leadership skills and problem-solvingBe hands-on, team oriented and committed to business improvement processes.Effectively interface with multiple management levelsWhy Avantor?Dare to go further in your career.
