The Opportunity Looking for Board Certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians for an immediate opening. Oversee quality and safety initiatives. Collaborate with hospital quality personnel to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards. Develop and implement projects to improve service excellence and patient experience. Compare patient feedback survey results to Vituity state/region averages and national benchmarks. Respond to written and verbal patient complaints in a timely manner utilizing service-recovery techniques. Track and trend patient complaints, including the QI director as necessary in concerning cases. Train and mentor providers in patient experience techniques. Coordinate with hospital-patient experience personnel. Coordinate efforts with key leaders in central operations.
Participate and lead multidisciplinary meetings involving nursing, providers, and ancillary services. Initiate process improvement and engage hospital project management resources to implement change. Monitor site financial performance and identify and create new areas for growth and revenue. Develop an expertise and understanding of the yearly budget, financial performance measures and monitoring systems, and billing and reimbursement issues/systems. Improve patient census and billing practice statistics to optimize reimbursement for the practice. Maintain awareness and interactions with payers such as significant IPAs, Medical Groups, Foundations, and ACOs associated with the hospital/health system. Required Experiences and Competencies Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.)
or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency through an accredited residency program required. Board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine required. Peds EM fellowship training required. At least two years of administrative experience and aptitude required. Maintain membership and privileges on Hospital's medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of Hospital's medical staff where services are being provided required. Physician Partnership status required. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to motivate physicians and non-physicians, manage multiple assignments, work successfully with a diversity of people and locations, maintain good working relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred. The Practice Maria Fareri Children's Hospital – Valhalla, New York Maria Fareri Children's Hospital is a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) and a major teaching facility as an academic affiliate of New York Medical College. 32k annual pediatric volume with 25% admission rate. 14 PEDS beds, 3 trauma rooms, 18 PICU, and 48 NICU. 24/7 PEM physician coverage with 24/7 in-house PICU and Peds Hospitalist attending coverage. Cerner EMR with ED Launchpoint. The hospital is home to Hudson Valley's only all-specialty children's hospital in the region, ACS Level I Pediatric Trauma and Burn Care Programs, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and its Level IV Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
