Title: Assistant or Associate Professor without Tenure, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Immunology, Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies Position The Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies (CIIT) in the Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is recruiting a full time Assistant or Associate Professor, without tenure by reason of funding. The position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be on the faculty-scientist pathway. Anticipated start date is Fall 2024.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Associate Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct translational laboratory and/or clinical research in an area relevant to immune cell development and/or function, including, but not limited to immunodeficiencies, immune dysregulation, cell therapies, genetic engineering or in vivo delivery.
In addition to leading their own independent research program, the candidate will provide up to 25% effort to the clinical care of patients as part of the talented Immunology team at Seattle Children's Hospital. They will join a diverse and robust team of clinicians, physician-scientists, and other scientists within CIIT to participate in the diagnosis, treatment and advancement of knowledge and novel therapeutics for immune based diseases.

SCRI based faculty are also active participants in University of Washington based graduate training programs including Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, M3D, MSTP and others.

The base salary range for this position will be: $14,417 - $21,250 per month ($173,004 - $255,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children's University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS). Qualifications Requires an M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent is required. A D.O/PhD combined or M.D./Ph.D. combined (or foreign equivalent) is also acceptable.
Board certification or board eligibility in Allergy and Immunology or Pediatric Rheumatology is also required.
The successful applicant must also be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
