Summary Bowling Green State University (BGSU) invites applications for a Collections and Electronic Resources Librarian with faculty rank of Assistant Professor. The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Library Teaching & Learning (LTL) within the University Libraries (UL) and is a full time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty appointment. The Collections and Electronic Resources Librarian will play a key role in managing the library's print and digital collections, while also actively contributing innovative ideas, making strategic decisions, and ensuring enhanced accessibility and discoverability of resources.


Bowling Green State University Libraries is a founding and active member of OhioLINK, a consortium of 117 libraries at 88 institutions plus the State Library of Ohio. The University Libraries (UL) comprises general collections (housed within the William T. Jerome Library) in social sciences, humanities, sciences and government documents; and is home to outstanding archival and special collections: the Browne Popular Culture Library, the Center for Archival Collections, the Curriculum Resource Center, and the Music Library and Bill Schurk Sound Archives. Additionally, the Northwest Ohio Regional Book Depository, which serves BGSU and the University of Toledo, is managed by the University Libraries.

Essential Functions Drives the strategic enhancement of electronic resource discovery through visionary engagement, spearheading the assessment of user needs, and championing innovative projects focused on optimizing user experience. Promotes electronic resources campus-wide to increase awareness and use through outreach; conducts informal training regarding electronic resources for library staff. Participates in troubleshooting user access problems and communicates solutions to library users and staff. Investigates and recommends policies, procedures, and best practices for collection and e-resources management. Analyzes library collections data in order to contribute to departmental and programmatic accreditation reports and collection assessment. Collaborates with the Collection Development Librarian in evidence-based collection assessment processes to analyze, evaluate, and adjust library resources to align with the teaching, learning, and research mission of the university. Supports and facilitates the collection development activities of subject librarians, Participates in materials budget planning and the acquisition of new resources in collaboration with the Administrator of Strategic Budgets & Acquisitions. Participates in reference services, including periodic staffing of the reference desk and chat reference. Develops and maintains a record of scholarship through presentation and publication. Participates in departmental, library and university governance and service commitments, including representing the library in statewide consortia committees. Experience with, or knowledge of, current issues and trends in acquiring and managing physical and electronic resources in an academic or research library. Preferred Qualifications

Experience planning, organizing, and managing projects, both independently and within a team environment. Experience with systems, including but not limited to, ALMA/Primo, III Sierra, Summon, 360 Link, EZ Proxy. Evidence of involvement with diversity and equity work in community, organizational, or employment settings. Evidence of scholarly activities.
