Position DescriptionThe Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in August 2025. The department has a strong, proven reputation for educating and training women of African descent to excel in STEM fields. We seek outstanding teacher/scholars dedicated to excellence in neuroscience and/or physiology. An ideal candidate would demonstrate a history of innovative research and a commitment to diversity inclusion. Applicants are also expected to engage in scholarly activity and to actively pursue an independently-funded research program. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses at the undergraduate level in at least one or more of the traditional sub-disciplinary areas of biology: organismal biology and/or physiology. The position also requires contributing effectively to curriculum development efforts, advising, and mentoring students, and providing service to the department and college. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to working with women and underrepresented minority students through teaching, mentoring, and research are especially encouraged to apply.
QualificationsPh.D. in Biological Sciences or related area.
