Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is currently seeking a Assistant Project Manager for our Arlington, VA office area.This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:Manages one or more moderately complex project, involving a combination of the following:Clients with a regional geographic footprintProjects involving multiple services provided by regional IE officesOther complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out)Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutionsReceives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projectsMay supervise: senior level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representativesUnder moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasksEmployee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisorEmployee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independentlyMay interface with design teamMay work closely with BIM team and use modelling softwareMay interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issuesAssists with and monitors change ordersMay assist with regulatory compliance and financial reportingReview project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contractWork with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurateAttend meetings and report on project tasks as neededMay provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policiesQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBA/BS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred RequirementsPrevious APM experience preferredExperience working in on K-12 education projects is a plus, but not a prerequisiteExperience working on projects in flood plains and with Net Zero certification will also be a plus, but not a prerequisiteAdditional InformationSponsorship is available for this position.Relocation is available for this position.About AECOMAECOM is the world's trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle – from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
