The Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara is conducting a search for an Assistant Teaching Professor, a Senate faculty position in the area of Film and Media Critical Analysis and History. This position is focused on teaching, and the requirements for the equivalent of tenure are related to teaching performance and department and university service.
We invite applicants who can teach broadly in the areas of film and media history, theory, and criticism. This colleague will teach in our undergraduate core curriculum, including our pre-major and major writing-intensive requirements, which focus on narrative and formal analysis, international cinema and media history, and film and media theory. They will also offer electives in their areas of interest or teaching expertise. Such areas could include:
