The Assisted Living Director will be responsible for the oversight of the Assisted Living department including the delivery of resident care, engaging programming, and staffing of the department. This position ensures Oakmont standards are met, and that the delivery of resident services exceeds resident and family expectations and fulfills the residents' service plan. This includes activities of daily living (ADLs), training care and medication technicians, and supporting a safe and enriching environment for residents.
What Will I Do Every Day? Ensure resident care is delivered in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and Company policies.Successfully complete the Care Provider and Medication Training program. Train and assist Care Providers and Medication Technicians in the performance of their job requirements and assume their job duties when needed.Oversee residents in their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks as needed and directed. This includes transferring, bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, escorting to meals and activities, bowel and bladder functions, and dressing as needed.Partner with community healthcare professionals, including physicians, discharge planners, nurses, and state agencies on the care needs of residents as needed.Oversee and ensure that all department programs are operated effectively and efficiently to meet the established goals of participation and outcomes.Provide care team with current resident service plans and care assignment (run sheets) and monitor to ensure services are provided and documented according to Company policy and state regulations.Communicate effectively with residents and their responsible parties on all care and healthcare related needs, leading care conferences as needed.What Will I Need to Be Successful in This Role? Prefer two (2) years' experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) and/or at least one (1) year experience management in a healthcare company.Prefer two (2) years' experience supervising team members.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Prefer higher education degrees or certificates in healthcare administration, gerontology, social work, and/or nursing.Willingness to obtain administrator's license or certification.Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), and ability to learn related software such as payroll, applicant tracking, HRIS, etc.Able to perform moderately complex math problems, read, and understand budgets and other financial reports/statements.Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.With communities across California, Hawaii, and Nevada, opportunities for career growth, relocation, and travel are significant.
