Description
The Associate Designer will support the Senior Designer and Design Director throughout the development cycle of missy apparel, from concept to production.
Key responsibilities include creating flat sketches and CAD work in Illustrator and Photoshop, developing design presentation boards, and maintaining communication with factories and cross-functional teams.
The role requires a solid understanding of garment specifications and construction for wovens and cut/sew items, as well as experience in tech pack creation.
Responsibilities Support the senior designer and design director throughout the development cycle from concept to production.Proficient with flat sketches in Illustrator, cad work in Photoshop and able to make design presentation boardsCommunicate and follow up with factories and cross functioning teams throughout product development cyclesSolid understanding of specs and construction details for wovens and cut/sewExperienced with Tec pack creationMarket shopping and trend researchAttend fittings sessions for areas of responsibilityStrong organizational skills to keep records and maintain line sheets of all designs and componentsKnowledge of fabrics, hardware and trimsExperience with print s/off, hardware, and trim approvalsKnowledge of the full life cycle of a garmentKnowledge of PLM is a plus
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in knit and woven missy apparel designBachelor's degree in Apparel Design or a related fieldStrong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approachExcellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlinesProficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProactive team player with a good understanding of the technical aspects of construction, fit, and standard specifications Hybrid Work Schedule
3 days a week in the office, 2 days work from home
New York Pay Rate $53,000 - $65,000
