About the Role:
As an Associate Buyer on the Deli team, you will work alongside a buyer to develop your buying and negotiating skills. Your focus will be on assisting the buyer with their categories and key accounts, as well as managing your own categories. The Associate Buyer will report to a Buyer on the Deli Team.
Responsibilities Include:
Support Buyers on day-to-day functions of the department
Develop new relationships and foster existing ones to drive success in your categories
Manage multiple classes and sub-classes
Monitor purchase orders and manage weekly receipt flow into distribution centers
Ensure fulfillment accuracy of receipts
Collaborate with inventory planning to support buyer forecasting and imports
Sell Grocery Outlet to vendors and maintain supplier relationships
Identify category opportunities based on trends to exceed sales and margin plans
Analyze key metrics by category and SKU
Negotiate costs to maximize customer value and margin
Ensure thorough communication with vendors and internal partners
Maintain a reputation of credibility and responsiveness
Write articles for store managers and operators on organic trends and merchandising
About The Pay:
Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 Annually

About You:
Degree and 2+ years of purchasing experience or 4 to 6 years of purchasing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience negotiating cost and terms with suppliers
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Proven team player, self-motivated, independent thinker
Highly analytical and resourceful
Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
Travel 10% of the time
