We are seeking a skilled attorney to support international trade, transportation, logistics, and supply chain matters for our expanding Amazon Web Services (AWS) business in APAC.
This includes providing counsel on emerging trade laws on innovative technology such as AI, quantum, and semiconductors; advising on export controls and import/Customs matters; leading regulatory engagements; collaborating globally to develop innovative international trade, transportation, logistics and supply chain solutions; and offering guidance on forthcoming regulations and enforcement trends.
The role involves working directly with business units and cross-functional teams.
The successful candidate will provide strategic input on legal and business decisions, navigate complex regulatory environments, and employ creative approaches to problem solving.
Key job responsibilitiesThis position plays a crucial role in supporting AWS's global expansion, and requires a talented and motivated individual capable of managing a broad range of matters, in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSJ.D.
degree or international equivalent from an accredited law school2+ years of post-qualification legal experience as a licensed attorneyKnowledge of export control/strategic control lawsKnowledge of import/Customs laws, including tariff classification, valuation, and country of origin rulesAbility to work independently, decisively, and creatively, while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teamsDemonstrated organizational skills, including an ability to manage multiple projects at once and competing deadlinesStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to provide practical and business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment, even in ambiguous situationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house workExperience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalentCommon sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humorExcellent interpersonal skills, a desire to be challenged, and the ability to be a partner to business stakeholdersHighest standards of ethics and professional integrityOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
