Full job description Position Summary:
The Associate Legal Counsel is responsible for conducting legal research on insurance laws, regulations, and precedents and providing valuable insights to support the resolution of legal issues. The role involves building productive relationships, contributing to the resolution of legal matters, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. They apply company policies and procedures, collaborate with experienced team professionals, and continuously develop expertise in the field of legal counsel. Location:

Responsibilities:
Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, with a focus on brokerage and binding authority agreements. Provide support to senior attorneys in complex commercial transactions such as M&A. Work closely with our legal and business teams as well as collaborate with various departments to help accomplish strategic objectives. Conduct legal and factual research, and data analysis and reporting as requested. Ensure legal and operational compliance of the Company's market partners. Utilize contract management software to manage agreements, amendments, legal and compliance due diligence and related tasks. Identify and assess legal and business risks to the Company. Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to business leaders and/or executives. Uphold the security and confidentiality of documents, data and potential business transactions. Ability to interpret and apply Company policies, procedures and processes. Perform other relevant duties as requested by senior attorneys and other executives. Work Experience:
2-5 years' experience as a practicing lawyer within the insurance industry, focusing on brokerage and binding authority agreements. Experience with benefits contracts, including medical stop-loss agreements, strongly preferred. Excellent legal, analytical, contract review and negotiating skills. Exceptional communication, project management and organization skills with the ability to develop trust and confidence from colleagues and clients. Able to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external business partners. Able to identify and articulate client/colleague needs and work through complex problems. Able to work in a fast-paced constantly changing environment. Able to prioritize tasks and projects and effectively manage time on own. Knowledge of the Insurance industry, insurance transactions and practices are preferred. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Familiarity with contract management software and/or technology using workflow is preferred. Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision. Critical attention to details. Proven track record of being a team player.
Education:
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school required.
Licenses & Certifications:
Minimum requirement for licenses to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction. Salary Range:

The target salary range for this position is $74,000.00 - $97,125.00 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
