The Georgetown University School of Nursing (GUSON) seeks an Associate Dean for Research (ADR) for a 12-month full-time, campus based faculty position , who is tenure eligible at the rank of Full Professor, and shares a commitment to the mission, vision and core values of the greater University and the GUSON. 
We seek faculty who share our vision of preparing nurse leaders to advance social justice, dismantle oppressive conditions, promote health equity for all, and shape the future of nursing. This will be achieved through the pursuit of excellence, innovation, critical consciousness and leadership in education, practice, research, scholarship, and service. 
The ADR is a vital member of the executive leadership team who leads the research endeavors of the school and facilitates programs of research and scholarly productivity among faculty and students.  The ADR represents the School on the Medical Center Campus and within the university in matters pertaining to research and reports directly to the Dean of GUSON.

This role is an administrative appointment, and time served is at the discretion of the Dean. 
The primary role is administrative, with 50% effort dedicated to the administrative role. The remaining effort is 40% research and 10% teaching. Faculty responsibilities also include service to the University, including contributing to related graduate program instruction, advising students in research, serving on assigned committees, and engaging in scholarly activities. 
The successful candidate will demonstrate support for diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and antiracism as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment at GUSON.
Responsibilities of the Position: Provide vision and strategic direction for high impact research and scholarly activities . Facilitate and stimulate funding and implementation of research and research development for faculty and students of GUSON. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and interdisciplinary colleagues to develop grant, contract, and scholarship proposals relevant to the strategic endeavors of GUSON. Maintain accountability for developing, implementing, and evaluating the strategic research and scholarship goals of GUSON. Mentor tenure-line faculty in developing sustainable programs of research. Provide consultation, information, and assistance to individual faculty in all stages of the research process. Propose and prioritize budgetary needs related to research productivity at GUSON. Collaborate with faculty supervisors and administrators on workload effort designated for research and scholarship. Collaborate with the Dean and other university personnel in development-related fundraising initiatives that are aligned with GUSON's strategic initiatives. Develop faculty scholarship, mentorship plans and onboarding processes regarding research. Promote faculty development that includes formal academic study and activities that enhance faculty promotion and tenure. Report to the Dean at GUSON and assume other responsibilities as directed by the Dean. Represent the Dean at designated meetings and, as needed, at regional, national, and international professional associations. Maintain a research program with secured funding that results in scholarly publications and national /international presentations to maintain own research productivity and professional stature. Participate in GUSON governance activities The ADR reports to the Dean of GUSON
Requirements: Hold a research focused doctoral degree with demonstrated experience in growing a research program. Eligible for RN licensure in the District of Columbia (DC) as applicable Evidence of professional leadership and progressive leadership responsibilities Excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to guide others in their research Research Have an active body of scholarship and research consistent with tenure track expectations for the eligible rank  Have an active program of externally funded research as a principal investigator (e.g., foundation, NIH, HRSA) Demonstrated record of peer reviewed publications commensurate with rank Experience in developing successful research programs and research teams Preferred Experience: Evidence of community partnerships with state and local government, communities and clinical agencies related to program of research  Prior leadership experience in nursing, research, nursing education and/or health care.  Evidence of practice, teaching, or research excellence through certification, awards, or advanced professional education related to research.  History of NIH funded research Interested candidates should submit: A current CV Cover Letter detailing your interests in the position, teaching experience and area(s) of research
