Job Summary: The Associate Director of College Corporate and External Relations assists the Executive Director with the development and implementation of the corporate and external relations strategic plan. Provides oversight of specialized programming and events.
Additional Department Summary: Plans, organizes and directs programs of annual fund, donor stewardship, recognition and reporting to maximize the impact of philanthropic support for the College. Develop and lead an integrated donor relations program that strategically targets donors across all giving levels. Oversees and consults on external facing speaker series, conferences and symposiums hosted by the College. Coordinates and implements ideas with department heads, faculty, staff, alumni, corporations, and UA administrators. Engages and oversees all Culverhouse Executive Society (CES) meetings, social media and email campaigns for Bama Blitz, We Are UA, and other fundraising initiatives outside of major giving. Interacts with alumni in high-level executive positions. Collaborates with the Dean, Executive Director of External Relations, Executive Director of Development, and other constituencies to develop overall strategic alumni engagement plan for the College in accordance with the mission of the College and the University. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of fundraising, membership solicitation, and/or recruitment experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of fundraising, membership solicitation, and/or recruitment experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Frequent travel required. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Understanding of marketing principles that can be applied in alumni, corporate, and external relations. Ability to gain acceptance by all age groups of people in the corporate, alumni and University communities. High energy level and ability to initiate new projects and programs, then manage implementation of such. Ability to plan, organize and carry out major alumni relations projects required. Attention to detail. Excellent organization skills. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with varying levels of University, alumni, corporate and community environments. Proven track record of problem solving and strategic planning. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Platform presence and ability to present data effectively to constituencies. Management experience and skills of staff and student groups.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising/Public Relations, Communications, Business or a related field and ten (10) years of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, business or a related field that includes fundraising, membership solicitation, or recruitment; OR Master's degree in Marketing, Advertising/Public Relations, Communications, Business or a related field and five (5) years of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, business or a related field that includes fundraising, membership solicitations or recruitment.
