Associate Director/Director, IT G&A Business Partner and SOX Compliance LeadVerve is a clinical-stage genetic medicines company established with a mission to solve the global health epidemic of cardiovascular disease.
Founded by world-leading experts in cardiovascular medicine, human genetics and gene-editing, Verve is pioneering a new approach to the care of cardiovascular disease, potentially transforming treatment from chronic management to single-course gene editing medicines.
The company's initial three programs – VERVE-101, VERVE-102, and VERVE-201 – target genes that have been extensively validated as targets for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), a root cause of cardiovascular disease.
The PositionVerve is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director or Director, IT G&A Business Partner and SOX Compliance Lead to work closely with the G&A groups and lead and enhance our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program.
This role will drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT policies, procedures, controls, and data governance frameworks to ensure compliance with SOX and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and other applicable standards.
Job ResponsibilitiesLead the design, implementation, continuous improvement, and compliance of Information Technology General Controls and Information Technology Access Controls, ensuring adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements while aligning with corporate objectives.Act as the IT compliance lead during SOX audits, providing expert insights and reinforcing the organization's commitment to regulatory excellence.Serve as a key partner to both internal and external auditors, ensuring efficient SOX testing and remediation while maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the process.Tackle complex challenges by integrating diverse perspectives and transforming them into innovative, actionable strategies for the team.
Identify potential risks, close compliance gaps, and implement effective controls through collaboration with Finance, IT, and HR.Foster strong relationships with senior management, colleagues, and external stakeholders, driving key decisions in critical situations.Design and enforce robust policies and controls to ensure personal data protection and compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations.Build and refine data governance frameworks to ensure security, accuracy, and usability of data throughout its lifecycle.
Mentor team members, fostering collaboration, resolving roadblocks, and maintaining peak performance.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or relevant field.At least 9 years of relevant experience in IT compliance, governance, or related roles, preferably in a SOX-regulated biotech or pharmaceutical environment.Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR).Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional projects and leading teams to successful outcomes.Skills & AbilitiesProven ability to lead and develop teams, managing complex projects and solving abstract problems.Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience influencing stakeholders and aligning organizational objectives.Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction and translate it into actionable plans.High emotional intelligence, with skills in conflict resolution and understanding diverse perspectives.Experience in budget management and accountability for departmental or cross-functional finances.Ability to bring structure to ambiguous situations and develop overarching frameworks for projects.Track record of mentoring and developing future leaders within an organization.EEO StatementVerve Therapeutics is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
