MCD is seeking an Associate Director of Donor Relations —a mission-driven team member.

Working closely with fundraisers, and under the supervision of the Senior Associate Director of Donor Relations, you will create and implement comprehensive, individualized, and high-impact stewardship plans, and write highly customized reports, letters, and other communications.
In this capacity, you will contribute to the overall donor stewardship vision and strategy of MCD, while ensuring effective project management and efficient processes.
Your responsibilities will include:

Strategy

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with development officers in order to help define the stewardship strategy and maximize engagement for a portfolio of donors.
On a regular and on-going basis, meet with assigned development officers to plan and execute comprehensive, high impact stewardship reporting and collateral for Stanford Medicine's donors.
Writing

Research, write, edit, and finalize reports, gift acknowledgment letters, and other stewardship collateral and correspondence for donors, coordinating with colleagues, faculty, and leadership to create personal and accurate communications.
Project Management

Proactively monitor and manage the stewardship needs of donors.
Build a complete understanding of each donor's involvement and giving activity.
Coordinate with faculty, development officers, and MCD staff and University partners to develop and produce key, multidimensional stewardship deliverables, including written (hard copy, email or online content), video, or events.
Oversee design and production of development materials from creation to deployment.
Manage the reporting and data needs for donors, using multiple databases, including updating and tracking data, uploading documents and files, and entering project-related information to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Manage vendors/consultants on specific projects, as needed.
General

Maintain open channels of communication with stewardship colleagues across the university.
Assist in setting priorities for the Donor Relations team(s) and contribute to their overall effectiveness.
Develop knowledge of Stanford Medicine, as well as an understanding of how stewardship relates to the work of Stanford Medicine.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience in non-profit development, preferably in an academic environment is nice to have.
Strong client service orientation and attention to detail.
Ability to interact with a wide range of people at different levels of an organization, including students, faculty, top university administration, high-level donors, and volunteers.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create and edit high-level reports and correspondence efficiently and under tight time deadlines.
Ability to articulate science progress and impact in a way that is understandable and meaningful to various constituencies.
Proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple priorities and projects, with competing deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Tact, discretion, and experience handling confidential information.
Ability to work together with courage, collaboration, communication, and compassion.
A healthy respect for others is an essential, shared value.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and database applications.
Working Conditions

May require working flexible hours, including nights and weekends

Stanford University hasfive Regional Pay Structures.
The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $71,030 to $100,692per annum for remote positions.
The expected pay range for this position is $107,167 to $110,000 per annum for hybrid positions.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
