POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Associate Director, IT Enterprise Applications to lead and deliver enterprise applications and capabilities leveraging IT best practices, methodologies, standards and guiding principles. This role will report directly to the VP, IT. The role will partner closely with HR, Commercial (Marketing & Sales, Commercial & Portfolio Planning, Global Market Access), Medical Affairs, and Patient Advocacy functions and peers within IT to provide solutions. Success for the individual will be measured by key metrics associated with on time/on budget system delivery, reuse of technical capabilities, scalability & performance systems, and security of solutions. The person will provide techno-functional leadership within Day One, serving as the resident authority that guides the selection, design, deployment, and integration of SaaS-based solutions into one cohesive ecosystem. Through broad technical expertise is required, this position must be able to bridge the technical/business gap by articulating highly technical concepts in business terms.
This position preference is in the San Francisco Bay Area and has the potential to be fully remote. Occasional travel will be required for in-person meetings and conferences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partners with the business leaders to understand their needs and work to ensure system investments are properly prioritized, scoped, delivered, and managed in support of business requirements.
Lead the technical delivery of IT solutions within the approved technology portfolio.
Partner with the QA function to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Works closely with strategic IT partners to deliver solutions and post-production support activities (patching, upgrades, decommission).
Prepare, monitor, and control the annual department budget to ensure expenditure is in line with the business plan as it relates to functional accountability.
Evolve the 3-year IT Roadmap and system inventory, aligning them with the budget process.
Prepares system configuration and deployment cost estimates, timelines, and budget.
Prepares and present project proposals to business partners and management.
Leads and facilitates the evaluation/recommendation of new technologies or capabilities that can be applied across the business.
Provides architectural guidance and oversight across projects and technology platforms, ensures guiding principles and technology standards are followed, and leads the Phase Gate reviews.
Conducts ongoing research into industry and technology trends.
Evaluates, summarizes, and presents key trends with potential to impact IT capabilities.
Partners with 3rd party vendors to understand and plan for the application technology roadmap and support services.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 8 plus years' work experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role.
Broad IT management experience, with emphasis on Life Sciences-related systems delivery required.
Experience with the use of SDLC methodologies in project delivery required.
Understanding of SOX and GxP controls, experience in an FDA-regulated environment is preferred.
Strong project management and change management is required.
Experience working with Veeva Vault applications (CRM, PromoMats, RIMS).
Experience working with other Enterprise applications: Box, SharePoint, Salesforce, Google Cloud, WP Engine, Zoho.
Experience working with Data Warehouse, BI & Visualization, ETL: Power BI, Tableau, Domo, Mulesoft.
Ability to work directly with business partners and end users to generate consensus around technical directions.
Ability to analyze complex business problems and evaluate solutions.
Ability to translate complex technical issues into business terms.
Contributes to setting the overall IT department agenda and operating practices.

Strategic mindset with strong analytical foundation.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000. Day One considers a range of factors when determining base compensation. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
