Associate Director of Student Success/Director of Orientation2 Positions available with one position located at the Bloomsburg campus, and the other position located at the Mansfield campus.
The Associate Director of Student Success provides leadership and direction in the creation, establishment, and coordination of learning, retention, degree completion, and student success initiatives at their home campus. Responsibilities include planning, coordination, and implementation of events and programs for new undergraduate students focused on positive transition to college, playing a pivotal role in University retention efforts. The Associate Director will guide their Student Success Team and oversee orientation, retention areas, graduation, and closing academic achievement gaps. This position supports assigned CU students from application through graduation and reports to the Executive Director of Student Success.
This role includes planning and implementing Orientation efforts at their home campus and assisting the Executive Director in collaboration across all CU campuses. Programming includes new and transfer student orientation events and workshops for specific cohorts such as transfers, first-generation, and undeclared students. The Associate Director coordinates the recruitment, selection, and training of student leaders within the Student Success Office and supervises, mentors, and trains Graduate Assistants as needed across all CU campuses.
The Associate Director will lead their home campus Student Success efforts and collaborate with vital offices and programs to enhance the culture of student success, improving, creating, and implementing campus-wide student success and retention initiatives. This includes leading a programmatic Student Success initiative for their home campus (e.g., PASS, Conditional Admit). The role champions a holistic support system and advocacy for students at their home campus.
Minimum RequirementsStrong understanding of student development theories as well as leadership models.Minimum of 3 years of experience developing, planning, implementing, promoting, and/or evaluating programs.Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising undergraduate students.Minimum of 1 year of Orientation-specific experience (or commensurate large-scale event planning).EducationDegree/level of education: Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, College Student Personnel, or related field.Job Type: Full-Time
