Trinity Christian College seeks a full-time Associate Director of Teacher Education. The Associate Director of Teacher Education has primary responsibility for maintaining and communicating the academic operations for the undergraduate teacher preparation programs and the graduate endorsement program. This includes coordination of all field placements for both the traditional and adult programs and overseeing processes and procedures related to program requirements for all programs. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Clinical Placements Create/Manage specific paperwork and processes required for each school placement request for adult and traditional students completing clinical placements in the area, for New Horizons, for Full Circle, chicago semester and in pre-student teaching placements. Conduct interviews and Approve all requests for out of area placements. Monitor the progress/lack of progress of each student's placement(s) Conduct any necessary follow up to get updates from the schools about the status of the requests monitor candidates program audits and all other requirements and documentation needed for student teaching via inplace Facilitate the completion of any additional paperwork needed by school district Communicate and support cooperating teachers and college supervisors, including assigning college supervisor to student teachers and planning and conducting orientations. Oversee payments and paperwork processing for college supervisors and cooperating teachers. distribution and completion of clinical evaluations. Assist in dissemination of evaluations Field Placements Create/manage any additional/specific paperwork that is required for each school placement request for adult and traditional students and supplement and non-licensure major/minors completing field placements. Monitor the progress/lack of progress of each student's placement(s) via inplace Conduct any necessary follow up to get updates from the schools about the status of the requests Inform candidates of placements via inplace Monitor and inform candidates of any additional paperwork needed by school district distribution and dissemination of clinical evaluations School Partnerships Serve as institution representative for the Chicago Area Directors of student Teaching organization Support clinical components, assist with partnership tasks, maintain document and compile evidence of stakeholder involvement Work with Dean and faculty members in making visits to the administration and/or teachers in partnership schools to work collaboratively on building and supporting the partnership Student and department supports Partner with Dean on curricular and/or program development and alignment projects related to ISBE requirements and standards. Collaborative oversight of departmental accreditation work, including both state accreditation and specialized programmatic accreditation. Serve as primary point of resolution for student concerns, appeals, and grievances related to program requirements, policies, and procedures Update department handbooks, Brightspace, and InPlace Serve as liaison for InPlace Qualifications include:
Bachelor's Degree Experience in working with school superintendents, administrators, teachers, and other school personnel preferred Experience with administrative tasks Sincere commitment to the mission of the College Personal faith in and commitment to Jesus Christ Professional expertise and integrity Excellent computer and organizational skills Excellent interpersonal skills Strong oral and written communications skills Creativity and wisdom in finding appropriate placements Capability to keep good, respectful relationships with students and the schools Openness to unexpected changes in how the placement process develops Persistence to confirm all the placements needed Ability to represent Trinity and our students to the schools in positive, supportive ways Other skills and abilities:
Ability to learn and use CAMS database software Ability to learn and use learning management system and placement software Ability to use MS WORD products Aptitude for taking initiative and being a self-starter; ability to multi-task Ability to track a large amount of information Excellent use of English language in both spoken and written responses Competence in finding information about schools/districts Competence in working productively with a variety of personalities Applications being accepted through Thursday, April 4.
