Associate – Energy Advisory (Project Finance) – New York or Washington, D.C.Job Description: The New York and Washington, D.C. offices of McDermott, Will & Emery seek a 3rd – 5th year Associate with a Project Finance background to join its Energy Advisory group.
McDermott advises industry-leading clients on some of the largest, highest-profile and most complex renewable energy project financing transactions around the globe. Our 40+ lawyer renewable energy team is routinely selected by global market leaders to create innovative structures, to mitigate risk and to create business opportunities in a complex and dynamic energy sector. We represent leading project sponsors and developers, private equity funds, tax equity investors, financial institutions, independent power producers, regulated utilities, corporate power purchasers, and equipment manufacturers along the entire arc of project development, construction, operation, finance, and acquisition.
Job Requirements: 3-5 years of project finance transactions involving sponsors, investors, developers, and/or lenders, with a focus on renewable power and energy transitionCapable of taking on significant responsibility for drafting primary deal documents (including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements (including tax equity), financing agreements, and joint venture agreements)Team-oriented with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working effectively within a deadline-driven environment is requiredStrong academic credentialsMust be admitted to practice in NY or Washington, D.C.As part of our ongoing commitment to be #AlwaysBetter for our people, clients, and communities, we have created a culture of belonging that champions your individuality as both a person and a professional. Expected Pay Range for Associates: 2024/2023 Class Compensation Years: $225,000
2022 Class Compensation Years: $235,000
2021 Class Compensation Years: $260,000
2020 Class Compensation Years: $310,000
2019 Class Compensation Years: $365,000
2018 Class Compensation Years: $390,000
2017 Class Compensation Years: $420,000
2016 and more senior class compensation years: $435,000
