Job Description
The Senior Counsel will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Provide legal support for the Company's mortgage warehouse and repurchase facilities and its secured and unsecured credit facilities, and the Company's treasury function generally;
Provide legal advice and consultation focused on a variety of legal issues relating to the commercial real estate and multifamily industry, including bridge and mezzanine financing, and multifamily loan servicing;
Work on CRE commercial loan obligation securitizations (and similar vehicles);
Provide guidance and advice to various business units within the Company;
Manage internal business relationships; and
General corporate compliance and legal assistance, including but not limited to drafting and review of contracts, including those related to the Company's joint ventures
The Successful Applicant
J.D.
with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
NY Bar
2-5 years of experience with commercial finance transactions and mortgage warehouse facilities gained at a top law firm or in-house
CLO and CMBS experience preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in NYC 4-5 days per week
