Position Overview
Be a part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable access to excellent higher education.
As the Associate Gift Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 50-100 major gift prospects while also providing essential support to the leadership gifts team.
Responsibilities
Develop appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors and prospects Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle, working independently to initiate contacts with potential donors Ability to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects Solicit gifts and support the solicitations of others Maintain stewardship contacts with donors Make decisions about cultivation time committed vs. expected gift; determine who needs to be involved in relationships with prospective donors Monitor all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations Assist other members of the leadership gifts team on specific projects Provide staffing assistance at cultivation, stewardship, and other major events Establish strong working relationships with the Institutional Advancement staff Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 5 years successful experience in major gift fundraising, preferably in higher education Excellent writing, interpersonal and research skills Sound judgment necessary for interacting with major donor prospects and senior staff Successful experience in developing cultivation and solicitation strategies and soliciting gifts Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously Strong organizational and project management skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while multitasking Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors to develop relationships between them Interest in all aspects of education and a dedication to promoting the organization's fundraising priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Raiser's Edge Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel Compensation Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 Generous Benefits Package
