Position: Real Estate Valuation Associate Corporate Valuation Advisors, Inc. ("CVA") is looking to expand its real estate valuation practice.
At CVA, Valuation Associates work on a variety of engagements assisting with research, analysis, report preparation and the valuation of commercial real estate located throughout the United States and the globe. Our engagements are completed as stand-alone, or as part of combined engagements with our business and machinery and equipment valuation practices.
Valuation Associates work on a variety of engagements focused on the valuation of owned and leased commercial real estate for a variety of purposes such as accounting, financial reporting, gift and estate tax planning, litigation support, and internal decision making.
Primary responsibilities: Prepare due diligence questions for clients Research industry, market conditions and trends, as well as comparable sale and rental transactions that will be used in the development of valuation opinions. Analyze real estate related documents (purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, legal descriptions, deeds, real estate tax bills, etc.), as well as financial documents. Assist in the preparation of valuation models and narrative appraisal reports. Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in accounting, engineering, finance, mathematics, real estate, statistics, or a related field. Prior experience in the valuation of real estate, preferably in commercial real estate. Familiarity with CoStar, or other real estate software. Excellent analytic foundation with advanced understanding of financial statements and real estate valuation methodologies (comparable sales, cost and income capitalization – direct and discounted cash flow, etc.). Proficient in MS Word and Excel (advanced skills preferred). Detail oriented, flexible, team-oriented, problem-solver, excellent oral and written communication skills, and responsive. Holds, or significant progress toward achieving, a state Certified General real estate appraiser license. Affiliate member of the Appraisal Institute (AI), a plus. Willing to travel for short periods of time. Compensation A base salary will be provided based upon experience. The position also offers the opportunity to earn periodic bonuses based upon individual performance and overall company performance.
