Associate Regional Business Service Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:
Associate Regional Business Service Officer (ARBSO) are responsible for shaping the future of service by modernizing our client experience through an elevated standard of care. The ARBSO is responsible for leading and driving the Firm's key strategic initiatives, contributing to a strong regional culture, coaching and developing employees. The ARBSO works closely with the Regional Business Service Officer to lead and supervise all business and service initiatives across the Region.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Supervision
• Lead the Region in executing the organization's strategic priorities by influencing and coaching behavioral change
• Lead, mentor and supervise a team of Complex Business Service Officers, Business Service Officers and Service Managers
• Identify opportunities to develop talent throughout the regional team in partnership with Field Service and Field Development
• Oversee various projects throughout the Region, including a range of real estate and facilities initiatives
• Manage service risk within the Region (e.g., take a leadership role with internal and external audit activities, branch exams and remediation projects)
• Champion and support diversity & inclusion
Communication and Relationship Building
• Maintain strong relationships and liaise with key partners throughout the Region and Home Office (e.g., spearheading various platform pilots and/or national rollouts locally within the Region)
• Directly resolve business and service related client needs within the region
• Actively participate in national calls and stay abreast of key topics in order to effectively cascade communications within the Region as well as participate in conversations around these issues at the National level
• Conduct meetings to effectively communicate progress against strategic priorities, revisions to policies and procedures, upcoming platform enhancements, share best practices, foster open dialogue on timely topics, and promote teamwork within the Region
• Partner closely with Human Resources regarding all aspects of people management
• Keeps the Regional Management team informed of significant matters
Operational Oversight
• Oversight of service controls and Audit Readiness Program in partnership with CBSOs to help ensure successful audits
• Standardize operating procedures, leveraging national best practices and guidance
• Accountable for regional expense management, including but not limited to budgets and headcount allocations
• Review and action various regional approvals requiring attention, (e.g., rate adjustments, headcount, expenses)
• Administer other duties as delegated by the Regional Management team
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent education
• Previous industry management experience
• Active Series 7 (GS), Series 9 and Series 10 (SU), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA)
• Other licenses as required for role or by management
Knowledge/Skills
• Evidence of strong leadership capabilities

• Ability to manage relationships, motivate and lead groups of people at various levels
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $170,000 and $245,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
