MSWM's Private Banking Group ("PBG") offers a variety of lending, deposit, and cash management solutions such as securities-based loans, home loans, and cash management accounts. PBG is responsible for developing, launching, and managing innovative banking and lending services tailored for Wealth Management clients through its US Bank entities: Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association ("MSPBNA"), Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. ("MSPBNA"), and E*TRADE Bank ("ETB").
High Net Worth Lending ("HNW Lending") within the PBG is focused on managing, developing, and growing the Securities Based Lending "SBL" business within Morgan Stanley. SBL provides MSWM clients with liquidity solutions by allowing clients to borrow against the value of eligible collateral held in their MSWM account.
We are seeking a high potential SBL Solutions Desk specialist to provide direct support to Financial Advisors, Service Processionals, and Private Bankers through comprehensive knowledge of all SBL products and services. The candidate will provide broad support to develop the skills to become an SBL subject matter expert and establish key partnerships with Sales, Risk, Legal, Operations, Credit, and other key constituents. The team works closely with product managers to provide feedback on challenges faced by our sales partners and recommend product enhancements. An emphasis will be placed on collateral analysis and process to ensure securities-based loans are executed successfully. The role will require an understanding of both bank and broker dealer SBL product offerings.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide best in class service and support to Private Bankers, Financial Advisors, and Service Professionals.
• Gain confidence of the Firm partners and become Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all areas of SBL.
• Collaborate with internal partners (PBG Sales, Product, Operations) to ensure an exceptional experience and escalate issues and
identify strategic product and service gaps to product managers.
• Identify training opportunities and help Sales partners develop a stronger understand of Product nuances.
• Partner closely with Sales and other internal partners to ensure complex transactions are routed to and completed by the appropriate
areas in a timely fashion without escalation.
• Provide sales field with client facing letters and loan information.
• Use data to analyze business trends, create reports, presentations, and other materials for management.
• Assist with various projects and reporting as required by management including detailed presentations outlining the team's
performance, strategy, and initiatives.
• Work closely with operations teams to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Develop training material to provide product awareness and understanding among Financial Advisors and Private Bankers.
• Additional responsibilities as required by Lending Advisors and Head of Lending Advisory.
Required Experiences:
• Minimum 2 years of financial service experience required.
• BA or BS required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with Access, Tableau, VBA, Dataiku and SQL a plus.
• Extraordinary client service aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ownership of issues through complete resolution.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multi-task and manage expectations.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70,000 and $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
