Associate Scientist/Scientist, In vivo pharmacology A well-funded and highly innovative start up from Third Rock Ventures is emerging out of stealth with a syndicate of marquee investors and is seeking a talented Associate Scientist/Scientist to join the Biology-In vivo pharmacology team.
The Associate Scientist/Scientist will serve as the in vivo pharmacology representative for discovery-stage pipeline program(s) focused on antibody-driven diseases.
The role will work collaboratively with the Biology team lead(s) to contribute to lead characterization and development candidate selection.
The Associate Scientist/Scientist will aid in the management of external and internal in vivo pharmacology studies, including model development and characterization.
The ideal candidate is an expert lab-based in vivo pharmacologist with a background in immunology and biologics drug discovery.
Responsibilities:
Serve as functional team lead for pre-clinical pipeline program(s) and work collaboratively/partner with peer team leads to advance program(s) to INDDesign and manage in vivo biology functional experiments that support preclinical drug discovery including PK/PD analysis, mechanism of action studies, and disease modelingAssist in managing internal in vivo pharmacology capabilities at a shared vivarium space, including some animal handling/sample collectionIndependently develop and execute quantitative assays for the analysis/characterization of ex vivo samples (ELISA, flow cytometry)Manage out-sourced CRO-based workflows, including study design and data analysisRequired qualifications and experience: Ph.D.
in relevant scientific area, such as immunology, cell/molecular biology with 0-3 years in Biotech/Pharma pharmacology group or BA/BS in a relevant scientific area with 8+ years experience in Biotech/Pharma industry within in vivo pharmacologyExtensive experience in the design and execution of in vivo studies, particularly in assessing pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (biologics experience preferred)Experience in ex vivo sample analysis and data interpretation (immunophenotyping, ELISA)Capacity to work within a dynamic matrix environment, with strong contribution to project strategy and executionExcellent communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills; superb organizational and problem-solving skillsContribution to the design and execution of IND-enabling in vivo studies preferred
