We are hiring a creative and enterprising Augmented and Virtual Reality Engineer, to assist in leading the groundbreaking development of News, Elections, and Weather data-driven immersive environments for live broadcasts. This encompasses all technical aspects of developing and integrating an industry-leading, fully immersive, virtual, and augmented reality system across CBS News and Stations.
Responsibilities:Understanding of the entire live broadcast chain from newsroom to studio to playout servers and transmitters.Detailed Knowledge of AR/VR technology.Ability to Design, Engineer, and implement next-generation AR/VR solutions based on guidelines and requirements.Deploy AR/VR Technology infrastructure and deliver support with high availability, reliability, and agility.Implement standards for software and environment architecture to ensure enterprise level system design meets requirements for redundancy, security, and performance.Collaborate with other technology teams and team leaders, business partners, news, weather, and creative service departments, in developing and implementing AR/VR solutions.Collaborate with colleagues by offering technical training and fixing technical issues.Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.Effective written and verbal communication is highly valued.Qualifications:Minimum 5 years supporting AR/VR production in a broadcast environment.Strong background in AR/VR development.Proficiency with Unreal Engine Development, Blueprinting, and other AR/VR platforms and interfaces.Knowledge of motion tracking systems.Understanding of live broadcast workflows and systems including traditional weather presentation systems.Knowledge of 3D Modeling Software suites.IT, Networking and AGILE Software Development knowledge required.BA/BS Degree or Equivalent Experience.Hiring Salary Range: $100,000.00 - 140,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
