The Autobody Technician is responsible for fixing a vehicle after its damage. You will perform quality structural, body, frame, and unibody repairs. Also, assisting the estimator with accurate estimates and minimizing the need for supplements. Understanding the repair vs. replacement process is vital in the position.
Job Requirements2 plus years of auto-body collision experienceReplacing and repairing bolt-on and weld-on panelsKnowledge of auto body repair processesMeet or exceed the company's requirements for tech efficiency, cycle time (to keep vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery), and return rateWork and communicate with the production manager and estimators on the vehicle repair status, including supplementsUtilize all required safety equipment, follow proper repair procedures, and adhere to all requirements for hazardous waste disposalKeep personal work area organized and clean, return tools, and maintain parts/materials carts in an organized mannerSkills & QualificationsHS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification strongly preferredHistory of working independently and in a team environmentHighly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignmentsMust provide own tools (in working order)Complies with the manufacturer and dealer safety guidelines and standardsAbility to effectively communicate with othersAbility to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work ordersMulti-tasking; adapt quickly to the fast-paced environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and pullExtended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairsCarry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
