Our Claims team is currently seeking an experienced Auto Field Appraiser to join the team.

This is a full time, non-exempt role. POSITION OVERVIEW: The position is responsible for all aspects of the appraisal process for damage included but not limited to automobiles, trucks, motor homes, travel trailers, motorcycles and snowmobiles. Responsibilities include physical inspection of vehicle damage, written documentation of damage, appraisal of repair costs, negotiation of cost-effective repair alternatives according to Company guidelines, entry of appraisal into Company system, and timely completion of assignments. Company vehicle provided.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Perform physical inspections of vehicle damage as part of claim adjusting process; may handle inspections associated with highly complex claims with minimal oversight.Prepare written repair cost estimates, applying Company guidelines and State regulations and exercising independent judgment when warranted.Negotiate cost-effective repair figures according to Company guidelines and State regulations.Perform timely supplemental inspections of additional damage discovered during course of repair.Demonstrate awareness of and identifies fraud indicators.Apply knowledge of basic policy coverage.Be responsible for completing field appraisals on an automated appraisal system at the time of inspection or estimate review.Be responsible for determination of actual cash values for total loss vehicles.WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: 3-5 years of related appraisal experience, preferably with an insurance carrier.High school diploma or equivalent.With minimal oversight, performs work independently within specified limits and authority.Shows a willingness to adapt to new or different changing situations, requirements or priorities.Must be flexible with respect to work scheduling issues or changes that may arise unexpectedly due to business needs or demands.Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups.A valid State driver's license, clear MVR, and Appraisal License.Strong negotiation skills and the ability to deal with conflict and resolve issues promptly and fairly is key.Familiarity with CCC One or another auto estimating system required along with Windows proficiency, Excel and Word.This job posting provides cursory examples of some of the job duties associated with this position.
