THE POSITION PennDOT is currently looking for a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team in supporting the Northampton County Maintenance Organization. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will identify the necessary actions required for the repair of equipment to complete designated tasks. It is essential to have the skills to execute suitable mechanical modifications to the equipment to achieve the intended outcomes, all while ensuring a safe working environment for yourself, fellow shop personnel, and equipment operators. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Travel, overtime and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements, operational needs and during emergencies. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities. Special Requirement: This position requires employees to hold a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license. This position requires possession of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 Certified Inspection Mechanic. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
