About the RoleWe're hiring a Localization and Mapping engineer in our autonomy software team. In this role, you'll work with multiple stakeholders including Product, Engineering (hardware and software), and Operations to develop our localization and mapping system. You'll be researching, designing and implementing enhancements as a core member of the team.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…Play an integral role on a small and focused teamResearch, develop and implement algorithms for highly accurate localization for an autonomous vehicleDesign solutions for creating large-scale, accurate 3D maps to improve our robot's capabilities and behavior.Contribute to the architecture of a safe and redundant systemWe're excited about you because…Experience in at least one of the following: optimization, robotics, computational geometryExperience in at least one of the following: computer vision, lidar data processing, IMU data processingIn-depth knowledge of data structures and advanced algorithms.Strong C++ experienceIndustry experience designing, implementing and extending algorithmsMS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical fieldNice to have experience includes:Experience with 3D registration techniques, SLAM, odometry, etc.Prior experience in the self-driving vehicle space
