Job Title: AV Field Service Engineer Location: Various, local travel required
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced AV Field Service Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for providing on-site support, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AV systems across a variety of client sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audiovisual equipment and systems, including proficiency in diagnostics, repairs, and customer support in the field. Key Responsibilities: Perform on-site installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of AV systems and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot AV hardware and software issues to ensure optimal system performance.
Provide timely technical support and repairs for AV systems, including audio, video, control systems, displays, and related components.
Conduct routine maintenance and updates on AV systems as needed.
Collaborate with clients to provide training and assistance in system usage and functionality.
Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, and installations using company systems.
Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety guidelines during installations and repairs.
Communicate with team members and clients effectively to manage expectations and provide updates on project or repair status.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
3+ years of experience in AV installation, repair, or field service engineering.
Proficiency in troubleshooting AV systems and familiarity with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron).
Strong understanding of audio, video, and control signal flow.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of IP networking as it pertains to AV systems is a plus.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Willingness to travel to various client sites (up to 75% travel depending on project requirements).
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working on ladders, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
