Bankruptcy Paralegal

The Bankruptcy Paralegal will support the bankruptcy legal team in the preparation of petitions, plans, motions, and other pleadings.
Throughout the case, the Bankruptcy Paralegal will communicate with clients, trustees, and court staff accordingly.
Responsibilities: • Engages with clients in a warm, welcoming, empathetic manner to build trust, credibility • Review client documents to prepare petitions for Attorney-Client review • Revises petitions with any corrections for final client review and signature • Process finalized petitions for filing upon Attorney approval • Notifies and informs clients of 341 hearing instructions • Organize and prepare 341 documents and submit them to Trustee • Prepares and files petitions, plans, motions, other pleadings, amended schedules & statements, & amended plans with ECF • Notify the client of plan and payment options • Receives, processes, and manages reaffirmation agreements with clients and opposing counsel to file with the court • Prepares ad-hoc documents upon request by United States Trustee • Performs other related duties as assigned • Notify the client of case discharge and other relevant information regarding case closing Qualifications: Required Skills/Abilities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment • Proficient with Google Suite or related software Education and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent • 2 years of experience in bankruptcy • Experienced in Texas Western District Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000 yearly
