BARTENDER POSITION SUMMARY We are looking for an observant, efficient Bartender who can work with other staff members to ensure that our customers receive prompt, seamless service.

Encompassing and portraying the La Tropical brand by providing timely and hospitable service to all Taproom guests while making and serving beverages.
Inherently knowledgeable of all La Tropical's beers and pricing for recommendations and upsell to guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS Take beverage orders from guests and servers. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant's standard drink recipes. Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars. Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system. Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make changes (if applicable). Wash and sterilize glassware. Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons. Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. Clear and reset tables in the bar area. Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas. Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar. Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the Bar Manager. Assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies. Clean tables, doors, floors, floorboards, windows, vents, lights etc.
Maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout the entire restaurant. Provide a genuinely hospitable experience. DESIRED CAPABILITIES/CHARACTERISTICS High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be 21 years of age or older. Courteous, friendly personality and professional appearance. Knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors. Basic math and computer skills. Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally. Observant and detail oriented. Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least three years of front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Requires moderate physical efforts.
Standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling, and pushing, lifting weights up to 30 pounds.
