Billing Specialist

who will be responsible for overseeing a third-party behavioral health billing company to ensure all insurance claims are being processed timely and accurately and contacting clients to collect co-pays and/or deductibles or make payment arrangements.
Job Description:

Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
Collaborate with outside vendor to ensure claims are being submitted timely and resolve claim denials
Invoice private pay clients minimally one per month
Submit appeals to insurance companies as needed to secure payments
Follow up with clients regarding payment plan for account balances
Follow up on late or missed payment notices
Serve as point of contact for clients that have questions regarding their payments, statements, or account
Coordinate with Accounting team to allocate grant funding to uninsured clients
Provide ongoing reports to accounting team and program administration regarding the status of claims, projects, and reimbursements
Notify accounting team and program administrators of any concerns or potential risks concerning billing or collection
Job Requirements:

High school diploma or the equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred
Minimum 2 years experience in medical billing and collections
Knowledge of Medicaid benefits, preferably in Behavioral Health
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
Excellent data entry and organization skills
Excellent time management and collaboration skills
Possess personal effectiveness and credibility
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to appropriately handle confidential and highly sensitive information in a trustworthy manner
Strong commitment to the Philosophy and Statement of Faith of 4KIDS of South Florida, Inc.
Must successfully complete initial drug screening
Must successfully complete initial and annual background screenings
