Position SummaryUnder general supervision from the Manager of Benefits, the incumbent is responsible for administration and maintenance of the University's insurance and retirement programs. These programs include, but are not limited to, health, life, other voluntary insurance plans, TRSL, ORP, LASERS, and voluntary supplemental retirement plans.
Minimum QualificationsRequired Education: Bachelor's
Indicate the minimum number of years required to do the job: Benefits Consultant: 3 years; Sr. Benefits Consultant: 5 years with 2 in the functional specialty of retirement.
Indicate the type of experience required to do the job: Experience in human resources.
An Associate's degree or high school diploma and seven (7) years' experience in human resources may substitute for a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related human resources experience.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Education: Master's
Preferred Certifications/Licenses: CEBS, PHR or SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
Preferred Experience: Experience with Louisiana state retirement plans, experience in public higher education, experience with PeopleSoft HCM and Benefits.
