The Project Manager role is direct-hire opportunity working with a Specialty Chemical manufacturer near the Riceboro, GA area.
The Project Manager will oversee large capital projects ($10-$15 million) from conception to completion and manage existing production processes for a specialty chemical manufacturer. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee large capital projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop project specifications, including material and energy balances, and equipment sizing.
Prepare schedules, pre-planning, resource forecasting, and cost estimations.
Monitor project progress, coordinate activities, and resolve issues.
Control project costs, schedules, and planning by reviewing design changes.
Review contractor bids, manage vendor performance, and administer service agreements.
Prepare and present project status reports.
Lead the project management team to ensure project quality.
Develop and maintain project management database and plans.
Lead start-up activities and ensure performance standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with existing processes.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering/Project Management.
10-15 years of experience in process, production, or project engineering in a chemical/food manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MS Project and SAP preferred.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to understand chemical manufacturing processes and read technical documents.
Knowledgeable of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics and DCS.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Hands-on, field-oriented, with strong decision-making skills.
