Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination of the client billing process for assigned clients, including electronic billing, collections, and cost entry for cases.
Able to review and maintain a high volume of pre-bills, prepare pre-bills and possible invoices and instruction sheets for review by the relevant billing partner, coordinate the processing of the bills, prepare and assemble the bills and attachments, and finally send out the bills to the client electronically or by mail, if applicable or necessary.
Electronic billing will be a main function of the Billing Coordinator's responsibilities.
Preparing and verifying the successful submission of electronic invoices and the accuracy of supporting billing documentation as required.
Review monthly status of timekeeping, pre-bills, invoices and accounts receivable reporting with attorneys and supervisor on a continuous basis.
Follow up and take appropriate action as a result of client calls, emails and collection activities such as, but not limited to, research of payments, pulling and revision of invoices, write offs, etc.
Maintain confidentiality of client accounts and firm accounting information.
Excellent communication skills are required in order to obtain clarification on time and expenses.
The Billing Coordinator should also have knowledge of legal terms and processes in order to properly maintain time and expenses being billed to all clients.
Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years accounting, billing or finance experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to strategize, multi-task and prioritize.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
Strong initiative.
Working as a critical component of a team – must have the ability to work independently and also in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Working knowledge of Microsoft products including but not limited to Outlook and Word and Adobe.
Experience with TABS a plus.
This position is a full-time position that requires zero travel.
