The Billing Lead In collaboration with the Catholic Charities' Billing Operations Manager, this role will complete administrative tasks required to ensure efficient billing procedures and revenue recoupment.
Respond to system leaders, third party insurance and managed care organization billing and revenue inquiries and ensure organizational compliance, credentialing requirements, etc.
with third parties and panels.Work with the Billing Manager and the Finance Director to streamline billing procedures, measure and maximize billing productivity and manage the work of the Billing department.
Responsibilities: Essential Functions:Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.Support all third party insurance billing, reconciliation and follow up processes for all sites using Avatar (EMR) software.Maintain insurance panels needed to increase insurance revenue throughout Catholic Charities' sites.Work within the Avatar and other billing software as it relates to insurance guarantors and any health management organizations that maximizes efficiencies and revenues throughout Catholic Charities.Maintain and processes between Catholic Charities and all billable revenue streams.
Communicate with clinical staff in support of a pre-authorization process using existing Avatar system throughout all behavioral health service sites.Support administrative decisions, in conjunction with Catholic Charities' leadership, in relation to insurance processMaintain oversight for fiscal management, performance improvement activities and compliance for all related insurance related billing processes being conducted by Temporary Billing SpecialistsTrain, supervise, evaluate and encourage Temporary staff who provide support.Maintain strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Generate standard reports and review each for accuracy and consistency with the Avatar system.
Stay up to date with changes regarding regulations, best practices and available technologies in the insurance billing field.
Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives. Working Conditions and Physical Demands: Normal office environment;Occasional travel throughout service area required;Reading, writing, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, forms/documents, answering phones, use of computers and printers required on a frequent basis;Tasks require visual perception and discrimination;Analyzing and interpreting data;Frequent listening/hearing, talking to communicate with the public and management;Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
unassisted;Frequent use of computer and telephone/cell phone. Requirements: Combination of education and experience normally represented by an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 2-4 years of insurance billing experience.
Familiar with the regulations and requirements for HIPAA and aware of the compliance requirements as enacted.Maintain and protect confidential information.
Experience working in a healthcare environment and with managed care entities.
Strong analytical skills and basic knowledge of third party insurance billing. Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Must be well organized, detail oriented, have the ability to work independently and work as part of a team.
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.Must have the ability to effectively prioritize and implement a variety of concurrent and varying activities.
Advanced knowledge of computers, especially Avatar related experience and electronic medical record experience.Advanced skill set in Excel, Access or other database spreadsheet.Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
