Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
+ Review all patient accounts to ensure timely and compliant billing of Institutional (UB-04) and Physician (HCFA 1500) claims per government and third-party payor guidelines
+ Edit and process claims efficiently, identify errors and rejects, resolve billing problems to generate clean claims
+ Develop and utilize reports to perform billing reconciliation, as well as track trends and other potential implications
+ Review and recommend changes to a department's charge capture documents to facilitate accurate and comprehensive billing in compliance with annual CPT-4 and ICD-9 updates
+ Continuously research and monitor topics that involve governmental and third-party payer billing regulations and guidelines
+ Assist with training and development of billing methods and procedures
Required Skills/Abilities
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ Minimum 2 years of medical insurance billing experience in the healthcare field with a clear understanding of CPT-4 and ICD-9 codes
