SUMMARY: The position reports to the Accounting Manager while also working closely with the company's project managers and Principals. You will handle full cycle Accounts Payable and assist the Accounting Manager with Accounts Receivable (owner progress billings). The position also includes subcontractor maintenance, and vendor contracts and materials purchase administration. Software used is Sage 100, MS Office and Adobe.
Benefits include 21 days PTO (including holidays), and 401K defined benefit plan, with employer contributing up to 10% of salary. Travel expenses for Bart, Muni, bridge tolls, or daily parking are reimbursed. RESPONSIBILITES: Responsible for all assistant accounting manager duties for the company, including maintaining office systems, structure and flow to support the Accounting Manager and relevant operations of the company.
Accounts Payable (full cycle) • Accounts Receivable (Owner Billings) • Administration of Subcontractors' Insurance, Pre-lien Notices, and Lien Releases • Production of accurate and timely accounting & administrative information for the company, including regular reports Accounting Manager, Principals, PMs/APMs, and Superintendents • Responsible for adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Additional accounting support when necessary: Administration of Subcontracts, Material Purchase Agreements, and Change Orders
Skills and Experience Required: • Minimum 3 years of related Accounting experience in construction companies at the level of General Contractor
• Minimum 3 years construction accounting software, Sage 100 preferred
• High level of proficiency using MS Office and Adobe • Cost accounting (construction job costing) experience
• Understands AIA Progress Billing, SOV (schedule of values) and lien release processes • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Flexible, able to reach agreement with others
