Job Summary
The Project BIM/CAD Coordinator serves as a primary point on contact for BIM/CAD inquires on their assigned projects.
The BIM/CAD Coordinator is responsible for the successful execution of the assigned project(s) from start to finish.
The BIM/CAD Coordinator will prepare and distribute the BIM/CAD Project Execution Plan, initiate BIM/CAD setup activities, oversee and participate in the day-to-day activities of project Technicians to review concepts, ideas, sketches and samples from the project engineering team and render complete and accurate systems in BIM/CAD models, working drawings, and/or other associated deliverables through the lifecycle of a project contract; including conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, construction services, and record as-built drawings.
Assist project team with setup of BIM specific standards on new projects.

Demonstrate expert level knowledge of at least one modeling applications or design discipline.
Responsible for the coordination and delivery of milestone deliverables (Drawings, Clash
Reports, etc.)
Project Review
Review standards, practices & procedures related to BIM projects and coordinate changes with project team and BIM Manager
On projects utilizing automated quantity reporting, assist with monitoring project specific QA/QC procedures for model files (i.e.
dimensional accuracy, component classification, etc.).
Facilitate BIM standards meeting with project team to review results of digital model audits at each major project milestone.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Standards:
Communicate and may set appropriate design and graphic standards
Reviews project requirements and accurately determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables
Quality / Continuous Improvement:
Promotes quality within project/group/section
Reviews design inputs in order to ensure consistency
Assists to ensure deliverables are in compliance with the specific codes and standards in force for the project
May contribute to the continuous improvement of guides and standards
May participate in and lead process improvement activities and assignments
Responsible for drawing control and historical records, utilizing the appropriate method, as established by the project
Demonstrates personal accuracy and drives continual improvement and change management efforts
Engineering Production:
Applies basic engineering principles and established design practices in developing complex design concepts and deliverables
Applies judgment and makes decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation
Capable of handling difficult technical assignments within an area of expertise and can provide technical guidance to other professionals
Performs design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records
May review the deliverables of others
May coordinate the presentation, delegate production design, or other electronic applications
May monitor production to assure consistency, budget and schedule of the deliverables
May program control systems or participate in other plant start-up activities associated with a specialized area of expertise
Project Coordination:
Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development May support field activities
Communicates project design requirements, progress and schedules
Client Focus:
Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances
Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology:
Assist discipline or department management in developing and communicating appropriate design standards and process improvement activities
Identify training and development needs for personnel they supervise and may particpate in training efforts
Recognized for expertise in one or more areas
May be assigned special assignments depending on technical expertise
Assignments may involve solving a particular design problem or participating in a design team focused on completing an assigned project task
Makes presentations and conducts training classes within a specialized area of expertise
People Management - (supervision - career development - developing professionals, mentoring):
Typically assists with functions including performance management process, recognition, and corrective actions
May participate in career planning and learning and development
Supervises engineering technicians, including mentoring, instructing, delegation of work and providing feedback
Resource Management - (staffing):
May monitor staffing levels and available skill sets for project(s)
May identify resource application needs and process requirements
Administrative:
May review timesheets, expense reports, assist with communicating the continual development of new hire recruitment, policy and procedure
Preferred Qualifications
Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred
Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred
Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience

Minimum Qualifications
