The Opportunity: Data Science Sourcing Leader (DSL) is an experienced, innovative, collaborative team builder who is in tune with the market, focused on the customer, and constantly communicating the role of sourcing and the reality it faces daily. In this role, you will demonstrate your comprehensive knowledge of outsourcing models and strategies by negotiating and implementing cost-effective methods for clinical trial services and technologies. Additionally, you will understand and manage the cost drivers and assumptions related to clinical research and drug development. Position will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure successful, cost-effective and timely execution of research and development programs.
Provides offshoring and outsourcing strategic direction and industry expertise to Data Science leadership teams and staff related to functional strategy and industry trends.Leads development and implementation of strategic supplier performance program in PDD and establish overall governance model, including strategic outsourcing forums with PDD leadership teams.Leads functional/cross-functional implementation of process improvement with internal and external business partners based on agreed quantitative measures (Metrics) and qualitative assessments (Surveys).Develops and implements supplier quality management program(s) and oversees deliveries to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.Oversees vendor contract performance and implement contract review meetings across PDD to ensure payments are made according to contract.Seek to identify new partnership opportunities that fit the current but also the new business ecosystem (biomarker, digitalization…) using a data-centric approach and real spend analysis.Partner with procurement to define and streamline the biometrics vendor landscape.Who you are: Master's Degree or equivalent required. Scientific degree preferred.Proven Leadership experience required (minimum 5 years in Leadership).A minimum of 8 – 10 years' total work experience with at least 5 or more years relevant work experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry in Biometrics.Preferred: Has a big-picture perspective in addition to being able to manage the details, is in tune with the market and can adapt the sourcing strategy accordingly.Ability to evolve and operate in a complex and decentralized environment.Is curious and constantly on the lookout for new innovations in technology, business process, and relationship management to improve the operations.Excellent leadership, influential and lateral leadership skills.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence within and across functional boundaries.Experienced in working within a multi-cultural environment, sensitive to intercultural differences.Excellent coordination and organizational skills along with analytical and conceptual abilities.Knowledge of global regulatory requirements and GCP.Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization with geographically dispersed teams.Ability to frequently travel internationally (10%).Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco $142,400.00 - $264,400.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
